Moggs Online

This is a consolidated list of where you can find me on the web. I am in a lot of spaces as I am insatiably curious and love knowing what is happening in world and in the metaverse in general. I am in constant awe of the creativity and talents of others and love seeing what people have created... or in some cases just having dialogue with them. Second Life is full of amazing people from all works of life and who have a diverse range of talents.

My social networking friending policy:

Unlike real life me who is much more anal about privacy, second life me is happy to friend any or all second life residents on the various social networks. If I become your fan or follower in any given space, don't feel obligated to reciprocate - I'm following you because I'm interested in what you say, what you do or how you express yourself... I never follow people to get recipocal follows to boost statistics. If I follow you, it's because I am genuinely interested. I may not always comment, but I do read/view as much of my contacts content as time allows.
  1. Plurk - www.plurk.com/moggsoceanlane
The Spiel: I love plurk. It's friendly. It's easy and you can generally check in briefly and participate even if your life is out of control busy. Plurk is a fantastic way to keep up with a number of diverse things going on in Second Life and I've met a number of excellent people though plurk. I follow a lots of people and get a fairly well rounded overview of Second Life. For a person who is crazily and insatiablely curious, is perfect. If you are a second lifer and you request friendship, I'll accept (sometimes if there's nothing in your profile or timeline - I'll assume you are not a second lifer and so make you my fan - I don't always approve frienship offers from non-secondlifers. Feel free to request again later as it's most likely I didn't realise you were a second lifer). Tip: It's a good idea to have something about your self/avatar in your profile or to have content in your timeline before offering friendship to those you don't know through other networks or in-world.

  2. Flickr - Photostream - Profile - RSS Feed
The Spiel: I'm a happy snapper and mostly on flickr to see what other second lifers are creating - places, products, art... it's my insatiable curiousity. I follow lots of people and I while I can't keep up with every single thing uploaded, I do always look at the recent uploads and often follow links. If you invite me to a second life related group, I'll accept (well, I haven't refused any yet).

  3. Second Life Bloggers - secondlifebloggers.ning.com
The Spiel: This is a great place to discover second life blogs - pretty much any and every topic is covered. There's a list of Second Life blogs at the bottom of the Ning home page. If you have slots free in your in-world group allowance, there's also a SL group, 'Second Life Bloggers'. Within the community there are also sub-groups based on geography, common interests, etc.
